Steinway Young Artist Program
The Steinway Society of Western Pennsylvania hosts auditions each spring for students of piano teachers who are SSWP members. Accomplished pre-college piano students who can perform by memory several pieces from the standard piano repertoire are encouraged to participate. Qualified students will have the opportunity to perform in various venues including Honors Recitals at the brand new Steinway Piano Gallery of Pittsburgh, recitals in the Heinz Hall lobby preceding Pittsburgh Symphony subscription concerts, and master classes with renowned pianists. Students selected to perform on the Heinz Hall lobby recital series are also eligible to participate in a concerto competition, the winner of which performs with the McKeesport Symphony.
We are also excited to announce the Steinway Junior Young Artist program for the 2011-2012 season. Junior Young Artists will also have the opportunity to participate in special programs at Steinway Piano Gallery Pittsburgh.
