The SSWPA Young Artist Concerto Competition
For the first time in years, the young pianists of Pittsburgh will have the opportunity to perform a concerto movement alongside a professional, Pittsburgh-based orchestra. The winning SSWPA Young Artist will be featured on one of the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh's regular season concerts. While the performance date is not yet finalized, it will take place in September 2023.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at:

Contestants must provide their own accompanists. Performances without an accompanist
are not accepted.

REQUIREMENTS: Each student must present:
- A memorized first movement of a Piano Concerto, selected from the list below.
- A fee of $25 (in addition to the $125 SSWPA Family membership)
Please choose one of the following movements for the audition:
- Bach: any of the Harpsichord Concerti, (first movement)
- Beethoven: Concerto #1 and 2, (first movement)
- Mozart: Piano Concerti #5 through #27, excluding #7 and #10, (first movement)
